Happy New Year!
The first baby of 2026 at Nadezhda Hospital is a girl named Eva. She was born naturally at 12:52 p.m. on January 1, weighing 3720 g and measuring 51 cm.
The medical team that welcomed Eva included Dr. Iliana Bateva-Hristova, midwife Marina Kapitanska, midwife Eleonora Ruseva, and anesthesiologist Dr. Stela Bayraktarova.
Eva’s mother is from Nigeria, and her father is from Bulgaria.
“This is the most beautiful day of my life,” said Irene, the mother of the baby girl. “I wish her health and great happiness!” She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical team and especially to Dr. Bateva-Hristova, who followed her pregnancy.
Dr. Hristova shared:
“I first met Irene at the Nadezhda Medical Center in Paradise Center. She came for an urgent pregnancy-related check-up at 25 weeks of gestation. After that, she decided we would continue together until delivery. She had doubts about whether she could give birth naturally. She was worried about being in a foreign country, far from her family, except for her husband. In the end, we decided to attempt a natural birth. The delivery was quick and smooth. Irene followed our instructions carefully, and in the end, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl.”
The last baby of 2025 was also a girl, weighing 2900 g and measuring 51 cm, born by cesarean section at 3:30 p.m. on December 31, 2025.
The team included obstetricians Dr. Milena Stoyanova, Dr. Ivo Manastarski, and Dr. Gabriel Dichev, anesthesiologist Dr. Aleksandar Lazarov, midwife Teodora Spasova, and operating room nurse Marina Mladenova.
To both babies who closed the old year and welcomed the new one, as well as to all children born at Nadezhda Hospital in 2025, we wish health and a happy childhood.
In the past 365 days, 2132 babies were born at Nadezhda Hospital — our future.
The team sincerely thanks you for your trust and wishes you a joyful and peaceful 2026.
