Dr Nikola Donchev

Dr Nikola Donchev graduated from the Medical University of Sofia. During his training, he completed internships in South Korea, Switzerland, and Japan. He obtained his specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology after completing his residency at Nadezhda Hospital. He regularly attends postgraduate training courses both in Bulgaria and abroad.

He has a strong professional interest in contemporary, personalized medicine in women’s healthcare. He provides consultations, diagnostics, and treatment of gynecological and obstetric conditions. He examines women of all ages, including adolescents and children. He is fluent in English and German.

His special interests include:

• Gynecological endocrinology – including menopause and hormonal disorders;

• Family planning – contraception, preconception counseling (preparation for pregnancy), and safe pregnancy termination, including medical abortion;

• Management of normal and high-risk pregnancies;

• Minimally invasive methods for the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions (including laparoscopy and ultrasound diagnostics).

Special qualifications:

• European Diploma in Reproductive and Sexual Health and Contraception (EDSRH–EBCOG, 2025);

• IOTA Certificate for Ultrasound Diagnosis of Ovarian Masses (2022);

• Advanced training in High-Risk Obstetrics – Weill Cornell Medicine (New York) and Medical University of Vienna (2024);

• Courses in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Donchev is a member of the RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists – UK), ESGO (European Society of Gynaecological Oncology), and ESGE (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy).
