Dr Vanya Despotova

Dr Vanya Despotova is a graduate in medicine from Plovdiv Medical University. She is a certified specialist in paediatric diseases and paediatric endocrinology and metabolism.

 

For three years, she worked as a paediatrician at Burgas Regional Hospital. She won a competition for the position of resident physician at the Children’s Department of Plovdiv Hospital, where she also provided consultations at the paediatric endocrinology consulting room. In 2006, she continued working at First Children’s Clinic, Alexandrovska Hospital. From 2006 to 2020, she worked as a paediatrician and paediatric endocrinologist at the Pediatrics Clinic of the Tokuda Hospital Sofia. In 2020, she joined the team of Nadezhda Hospital.

 

Dr Despotova’s professional interests are in the field of children’s health and preventive care, growth disorders, disorders of pubertal development, diseases of the pituitary gland, adrenal glands, thyroid gland, sexual development, obesity and metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, disorders of calcium – phosphorus metabolism, metabolic diseases. She is board certified in thyroid and abdominal ultrasonography, as well as working with insulin pumps, CGM.

 

She has participated in numerous national and international postgraduate forums, congresses and symposia.
