Dr Vasilis Fourlakis

In 2003 – 2004, he completed training in the Emergency Department of Pediatric Traumatology at N. I. Pirogov University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment and Emergency Medicine. In 2005 he started specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Gorna Banya University Hospital – Sofia, at the Department of Paediatric Orthopedics. During his specialization (2005 – 2010), he was trained by leading paediatric orthopaedists in the prevention and treatment of hip dysplasia in newborns, in the treatment of congenital deformities in children, in the treatment of flatfoot in children, etc. In 2013-2014, he completed a specialization in the prevention of hip dysplasia in newborns in Stolzalpe – Austria under the supervision of Reinhard Graf – Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

 

He has participated in numerous national and international postgraduate forums, congresses, and symposia. He is certified in ultrasonography of paediatric hip joints and TMJ, Plasma Cell Therapy (PRP), cryoanalgesia (cryoablation), sports medicine. He diagnoses and treats paediatric hip dysplasia, head deformities (plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, etc.), osteochondroses (growth disorders), gait abnormalities, flat feet, postural abnormalities (spinal curvatures, scoliosis), and paediatric sports injuries

 

Since 2017, he has been performing examinations of newborns, infants, and children at Nadezhda Hospital, and since 2020 – diagnosis and non – operative treatment of orthopaedic problems in adult patients, including pregnant and lactating women
