Here you will find detailed information about the highly specialized tests offered at Nadezhda for assessing essential microelements, heavy metals and toxic elements, as well as noble and rare metals in the body, all of which are of significant importance to your overall health.
The results provide valuable information about the presence of deficiencies, imbalances, or accumulation of potentially harmful substances that may affect metabolism, the immune system, nervous activity, and the function of vital organs. In this way, they support early prevention, precise diagnostics, and an individualized approach to treatment.

- Blood samples are taken until 10:00 a.m. at our Clinical Laboratory at 3 Blaga Vest St. or at Nadezhda Medical Center in Paradise Center, floor 3.
- The test is performed fasting (at least 8 hours after your last meal).
- Do not consume fish or seafood for at least 3 days prior to the test.
- Do not take dietary supplements/vitamins for at least 24 hours before the test.
- If you smoke, avoid cigarettes for at least 12 hours before blood sampling.

The package includes 10 essential elements:
iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), selenium (Se), cobalt (Co), molybdenum (Mo), iodine (I), manganese (Mn), and chromium (Cr).
What is the importance of essential elements and why should they be tested?Essential microelements are required in very small amounts but play a critical role in the proper functioning of the body. They are involved in:
- metabolic processes and energy balance;
- the activity of numerous enzymes;
- the synthesis and stability of DNA, proteins, and cellular structures (including mitochondria and cell membranes);
- hormone production and regulation of the immune, nervous, and endocrine systems.
Deficiency of essential elements may lead to:
- reduced antioxidant defense;
- hormonal and metabolic disorders;
- anemia, immune dysfunction, delayed development in children;
- fertility and implantation issues in IVF patients;
- lower tolerance and recovery in oncology patients.
On the other hand, elevated levels may also have a toxic effect, especially for copper, iodine, chromium, and manganese, which in excessive concentrations may affect the nervous system, thyroid gland, liver, or oxidative balance.
The essential elements test is particularly suitable for:
- IVF patients, especially in cases of repeated failed pregnancies or miscarriages, men with impaired semen parameters, and couples with unexplained infertility;

These are metals without physiological function, many of which have toxic, neurotoxic, or carcinogenic effects. Exposure may occur through:

silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), gold (Au), vanadium (V), and barium (Ba).
These elements may enter the body due to:
- therapeutic use, including platinum-based chemotherapy agents, gold- or palladium-containing preparations for rheumatologic diseases;
- contact with silver-containing products (medical devices, cosmetics, alternative therapies);
- environmental or industrial exposure to vanadium and barium.
Monitoring these elements provides important information for:
- patients undergoing oncological treatment (accumulation of Pt/Pd and associated toxicities);
- patients with autoimmune diseases treated with gold- or palladium-containing medications;
- pregnant women and children, in whom exposure to Ag, V, or Ba may have neurological or metabolic effects;
- IVF patients, in whom industrial or household accumulation of these elements may affect reproductive potential.

5 Elements of Choice
Price: €92.50 / 180.90 BGN
Testing 5 selected elements is an effective method for monitoring already established abnormalities, but it does not replace comprehensive diagnostics, as changes in the body affect far more than five elements.
During ongoing therapy, changes are often observed in more than 5 elements.
