Nadezhda Hospital Officially Accredited as an ESGE GESEA Training Centre
At the end of July, Nadezhda Hospital received accreditation from the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) as a GESEA Training Centre. We have been developing the programme for the past two years, and the official audit confirmed that our training fully complies with the high standards of the ESGE Academy.

At the end of July, Nadezhda Hospital received accreditation from the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) as a GESEA Training Centre. We have been developing the programme for the past two years, and the official audit confirmed that our training fully complies with the high standards of the ESGE Academy.
Our gynaecological surgeons, led by Dr. Georgi Stamenov, have been training colleagues from around the world for many years. The development of the GESEA Centre, under the leadership of Chief Mentor Dr. Iliana Bateva-Hristova, is a natural continuation of this work and expands the opportunities for hands-on training in minimally invasive surgery according to internationally recognised standards.
GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) is an ESGE programme for the standardised training and assessment of skills in gynaecological endoscopy. It includes a modular curriculum of practical courses in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, delivered in a specialised training environment using validated simulation equipment, and concludes with an internationally recognised certification.
Completing the programme modules at ESGE-accredited centres with verified training quality significantly contributes to successful preparation for the GESEA Diploma certification examination.
Our accreditation as a GESEA Training Centre is not only a recognition of our achievements but also a commitment to maintaining and continuously advancing the highest standards in the education of healthcare professionals who will apply minimally invasive techniques in their daily clinical practice.
The programme opens new opportunities for specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology—both for early-career physicians and experienced clinicians seeking to further develop their key surgical skills. The laparoscopy and laparoscopic suturing modules are valuable not only for gynaecologists but also for general surgeons and urologists wishing to expand or enhance their endoscopic competencies.
