Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology
At the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology office of Nadezhda Medical Center at Paradise Center, gynaecological examinations and consultations are provided for children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years.
Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology
The pediatric and adoelscent gynaecologists at Nadezhda Medical Center, Paradise Center, 3rd floor, are:
- Dr Desislava Staneva;
- Dr Zornitsa Buteva.
Dr Staneva and Dr Buteva have extensive experience working with children and possess the necessary communication skills to ensure that examinations are carried out in a calm and supportive environment with the cooperation of the young patients.The office is equipped with specialized instruments for examining young patients. The presence of a parent or legal guardian during the consultation is mandatory.
If previous medical records or test results are available, they should be brought on the day of the consultation.
The office does not operate under the National Health Insurance Fund.
Appointments are carried out only after prior booking at the Reception Desk or through the hospital’s call center.
IMPORTANT!
If the child has not been previously registered as a patient in our hospital information system, a personal patient profile will be created during the first visit. For this purpose, the parent/guardian must provide the child’s Personal Identification Number (EGN). Without this information, the examination cannot be performed.
Common reasons for visiting a pediatric and adolescent gynaecologist include:
- vaginal discharge with unusual color and/or unpleasant odor;
- itching, redness, burning, or rash in the genital area;
- pain in the genital area and/or abdomen;
- labial adhesions (fusion of the labia minora) with or without urinary difficulties;
- absence of menarche (primary amenorrhea);
- irregular menstruation – absence of a period for more than 2 months;
- intermenstrual bleeding;
- intermenstrual bleeding;
- intermenstrual bleeding;
- heavy and/or prolonged menstrual bleeding (hypermenorrhea, menorrhagia);
- painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea);
- early development of secondary sexual characteristics (before the age of 8 – pubic hair, breast development);
- absence of secondary sexual characteristics after the age of 14;
- counseling regarding safe sexual activity;
- diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs);
- counseling on emergency or planned contraception;
- presence of pelvic or genital tumors.
